I work in the Erie, PA region as an independent rostered Teaching Artist with Erie Arts & Culture and PA Council on the Arts. The artistic medium isn't so important to me as using a variety of tools that will best engage the students standing in front of me.
This has led me on a decade-long journey in experimentation with everything in education from maple sugaring with students to robotics and coding, visual arts, animation and film, 3D printing, game creation and gardening. I'm not afraid to try new things, problem solve, and feel my way to a solution - and I want my students to take that same creative confidence with them in life.
My background includes environmental education programs in Vermont and Washington, D.C. as well as several years working in the small farms and community food systems movements.
I began focusing on arts and technology integration in 2013 and later opened an educational non-profit organization, Box of Light Studios, with my husband. I'm currently pursuing my PA Teacher Certification and M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership.
I live in Erie, PA with my husband - and a cat and dog who mostly get along with each other.
